QUIZZES
Quizzes can and will be given at any time. They will not be announced. However, they will
usually be given in the first few minutes of each class. (If you are late for a class and miss
part or all of a quiz, you will not be given extra time to complete the quiz.)
All the quizzes given during a quarter will be averaged and count as one unit test.
Missed quizzes (due to absence only) must be made up before the start of the school day
(during Block I).
TESTING
Unit tests will be given upon the completion of the unit or topic.
All unit tests will be announced at least one (1) week before the test date.
Test dates will also be posted in the weekly class schedules on the class web site and on
the Bronxville Schools’ Web Site www.edline.net/pages/Bronxville_High_School.
Unit tests will be composed of two (2) sections:
All tests will be given in the regular class meeting time.
There are NO “make-up tests” in this course.
The only excuse for not taking a test that will be accepted is serious illness.
For individuals, who are legitimately ill and miss a test, a parent will be called to verify the
absence before a substitute test will be scheduled.
Objective Section, which will consist mainly of multiple choice
questions taken from past SAT II and Regents Examinations. The majority
of this section will include topics from the current unit, but because
scientific ideas are based on the information previously presented, all tests
will include information from earlier tests. This section will account for
60% to 80% of the test’s value.
Free Response Section, which will consist of questions similar to the
End of Chapter Problems in your textbook. This section will account for
40% to 20% of the test’s value.
