Check out these interesting links which relate to some of the topics we are or will be covering in class.

Most of the movies require the QuickTime Player.  If you get an error message, open the player first, and then
paste the url address in the file menu of the player under the "Open URL" choice

    Pfizer Fun Zone Scrambler - a good review site which randomly presents scientific
    words in anagrams to be unscrambled.
    Women in Science - a very interesting listing of the names with short biographies
    of 4000 years of contributions by women to science.
    Regents Review Live - has information about ALL Regents Exams if you  have broad
    band be sure to go to the streaming video area and click on the class  you want
    to review and you will be shown the complete broadcast of the televised review
    from WNYE.!!!
    Quia.com - web site that contains "various games and exercises" which allow you
    to review vocabulary and concepts presented specifically for our class and for
    biology as created by myself and other teachers.

Matter and Energy

    Chem4Kids - a colorful site that is a good introduction to the basic concepts of the science
    of chemistry.
    Physical Properties and Changes - brief page with some examples of physical properties
    and changes from Elmhurst College's Virtual ChemBook.
    Chemical Properties and Changes - brief page with some examples of chemical properties
    and changes from Elmhurst College's Virtual Chem Book.
    Particle Theory of Matter - an interesting site that gives examples of how this theory helps
    to explain the different states of matter. It also includes tables describing and
    distinguishing between intrinsic and extrinsic physical properties of matter.

Atomic Structure

    Atoms and Periodic Table - an interesting Canadian site with tutorials about the
    quantum     theory, quantum atom, Bohr's atom, atomic electron configurations, and
    periodic properties of elements.
    Rutherford Gold Foil Simulation - an interesting site which allows you to repeat aspects of
    Rutherford's gold foil experiment.
    Atomic Structure Tutorial - site with a narrated explanation of the development of
    Rutherford's experiment.
    Atomic Discoveries - this site will lead you on a "quest" to learn about the development of
    atomic theory.
