You will be evaluated in this course, based on the following:

ATTENDANCE

No extensions of ANY due dates will be given.  

You are responsible for all work missed while you are absent.  

All work is posted weekly on this web site and at
www.edline.net/pages/Bronxville_High_School.  

If you are absent all work missed will be due on the first day of your return to class.   (Obviously an extended
illness and absence will require you and me to work out a reasonable schedule to make up missed work.)

GENERAL CRITERIA FOR WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS

All written assignments will be evaluated in three different areas:  Format, Content, and Writing.

Format:

Is your paper neat and written according to standard rules of English?

Items included in this area are:

grammar           sentence structure   neatness
spelling          word usage           punctuation
paragraph breaks  capitalization       margins

Content:

Have you used the correct content information appropriately?

Items included in this area are:

content relevancy                correct application of information
accuracy of content information  appropriate vocabulary use
appropriate connections          appropriate relationships

Writing:

Have you communicated what you know so someone who is unfamiliar with the subject could easily
understand and follow what you are saying?

Items included in this area are:

Have you answered the question asked?
Is the answer clearly focused on the question?
Does it start with basic facts and then make connections?
Is it organized and presented in a logical sequence?
Are there sufficient details?
Does the answer flow smoothly from beginning to end?
Are there gaps in content?
Is there stray or unnecessary information?
